Tuesday, 20 October Martin Nickless Dixielanders

The Martin Nickless Dixielanders are six musicians playing the jazz cannon of the 1930s. In those days there were many informal jam sessions in fact the original Benny Goodman trio was a result of a jam at a party. This style of swing started in Chicago by the likes of Eddie Condon, Gene Krupa, Teddy Wilson and so on.

The Dixielanders' line-up for this visit is Martin Nickless on Clarinet, Pete Rudeforth on Trumpet, Graham Hughes on Trombone, Andy Ruiz Palmer on Guitar, Murray Salmon on Bass and John Watson on drums.

Their last visit was much enjoyed by members. Make a point of asking Martin if he will play 'Stealing Apples' as his clarinet feature. There are not many bands playing the number and he makes a superb job of it. jazz.
