Alan Gresty Ragtimers
The band was originally called ‘Muggsy Remembered’ and in 1997 won the ‘Band of the Year’ trophy at the Bay Jazz Club, which Alan still has. The band subsequently changed its name to The Gresty/White Ragtimers, but when Brian White retired a few years ago, the name changed again to Alan Gresty’s Ragtimers. Still playing great jazz and much enjoyed by members when they played for us last June.
The line up is usually Alan Gresty on Cornet & Trumpet, Tim Huskisson on clarinet, Alistair Allan on trombone, John Ellmer on tenor saxophone, John Arthy on double bass and tuba, John Watson on drums and Colin Bray playing the piano.
Expect a good afternoon’s jazz
